Slender Man Source mod will let you scare the hell out of yourself for free, with friends.
PC Gamer reports on Slender Source - an upcoming Half Life 2 Source Mod that will allow people to play a multiplayer Slenderman game (through Steam? It looks like it’s going to be through Steam.)
They also mention a few other horror games, some of which everyone but me has probably already heard of, but I’ll leave them here anyway:
SCP Containment Breach - Still in alpha mode (with no way to currently escape the facility), this game is based on things contained within the SCP Foundation
Hide - I can’t figure out anything about this one beyond it’s title and the “tantalizing screenshot” posted on the download page, but I grabbed it and we’ll see what it’s like.
Slender - everyone’s heard of this by now, right? You collect pages, Slender Man chases you? I’ve downloaded it but I haven’t had a chance to play it yet.
And last but not least, this one from a few months ago: SCP-087 (aka the creepy staircase game). Truth be told, it could be a lot better executed and a lot scarier, but hardcore fans of anything unsettling or anything SCP should give it a go anyway.
I haven’t played any of them yet except SCP-087, but Slender, Hide and SCP Containment Breach (alpha release) are now on my computer, waiting for me to find the time to play them.
When’s sundown again? I prefer to play this kind of thing in the dark.
